The Philippines: Travel Blog Entry #3

I have been in the Philippines for 12 days now. I have traveled much of it, visiting some of the most beautiful places in the world and eating world-class cuisine. I am writing this current blog entry from The Crosswinds in Tagaytay City, a gorgeous resort nestled in lush green hills. Words fail me when I try to describe the architecture and landscape. Therefore, pictures will have to work. I will post some tomorrow.

Typically, I wait until I am inspired before writing. Today, I am making an exception. I do not feel particularly moved to write, only to enjoy.

As I reflect on my journey, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for everyone in my life. If you can read this, you have played a role in my personal growth and development to some degree and I just want to say thank you for being there.

Life is about to resume in California in the next couple of days and Jan and I will hit the ground running. We both will have work the day after our return and I will have the start of the first quarter of my last year in grad school.

Sometimes, I feel like I completely missed my calling as a full-time author. Then again, I am a strong believer in purpose. I am glad that I am exactly where I am in my life at this point. I am very blessed. Tough times are to be expected, and I have had plenty of them. Tough times, however, are not the baseline of our existence. The baseline is supposed to be blessed. I hope I have demonstrated that well.

Thank you for taking this journey with us. I hope you have had as much fun reading as I have had writing.

Cheers! To another day!
